I have a skiptech 10-14 amp power supply when i check it with the volt meter its reading 13.8v but its not powering any of my radios for some reason.Any ideas???? Thanks Andy 038 |

Sounds like maybe the short circuit protection is kicking in ? How much amperage can you draw from it ? have you tried drawing a 'amp' or so and seeing if it still drops back. As with most power supplies, especially the cb types due to them being barelly capable of what there rated for, I would also have a look at the 'pass' transistor, its the transistor (s) that are bolted to the large heatsink (normally) as these can go without warning, although they normally go 'short' circuit internally and this will then output around 20 volts plus from the + - terminals. BUT it may be these transistors at fault you will just have to have a look. Mark |
