hi Ive just bought a pro peak 20a power supply and on all my rigs its giving me signal 7 of static across all bands.Does anyone have any ideas what i can do to stop it Thanks Andy 038 |

Hi Andy, It sounds like you are using a switch mode power supply. Some of these units give off lots of hash which reslt in lots of noise in your rig. I'm not usre what you can do to lessen this other than change it. Hopefully, the next post can point you in the right direction. chees, adonis |

Take it back and get a LINEAR power supply (Heavy transformer, bridge rectifier and regulator/smoothing circuit) eg Palstar PS-30M. Sorry to be a spoiler but there is nothing else you can do |

These are PSU'S are mainly for RC stuff charging batteries etc...get rid of it quick smart and get one that's actually advertised to work radio equipment |

I've had the same PSU running my S9 for about a month now with no problems? How near is your psu to your radio? What problems could arise from using these then, thought they'd be ok?

You could try a sharmans 23amp one,been running my gear on one for over a year without any problems at least they are for radio use.Of course you cant beat a linear supply they are without doubt the best SD

checked the power supply and it is switch mode and totally useless for any of my radios so im just using it for a linear but still get a small amout of static.It was only £37.99.My own fault really trying to "save the pennies" 73s Andy |
