Afternoon guys and girls. Am looking to get a couple of PMR radios for work. We tried a couple of Binatone radios years ago but they weren't loud enough to cope with the warehouse so i'm wondering if anyone can recommend something a bit more robust but, at the same time, not break the bank (if that's possible!). I know booger all about PMR radios so any pointers will be darn helpful. |

I use a pair of Dynascan AD-09s and I find them superb. Very very solid and well they feel well made. As for the volume, I think they'd lift you out of your seat. Simon's Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OberfiCfrIc Basic review on CT http://s3.zetaboards.com/copythat/topic/7447882/1/ No, they're NOT the cheapest by any means, but they're rechargeable so that'll save a few quid in replacing batteries. I've had a few PMRs and ended up replacing them, or changing them, or breaking them so I wish I had bought a good pair of solid ones at the start, as it would have saved money in the long run.

I use Motorola XTR446 which are robust (I have tested this by dropping them ) and they have all the functions you could ever want including a baby monitor function, and a 2.5mm socket for, as Ken said, an earpiece, I made up a couple of listen only ear defenders using second hand ex-mil ear defenders and fitting a d shaped ear piece that justs slides in and sits in side securely.[imgh=600]http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z338/joejeep1/photo2.jpg[/imgh] [imgh=600]http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z338/joejeep1/photo4-1.jpg[/imgh] Cheers Joseph |
