Not sure, have you tried googling Danita or Comitel? Comitel is the parent company of Danita.

As far as I know the AM/FM version uses a different board to the version which only has FM. The FM version has the same board as the Maxcom 30E, only with a different channel selector and PLL chip.

My brother has the FM version, and bought it new about 16 years ago, it is a nice rig, but I like Maxon boarded radios.

There is also an Intek Variant of the AM/FM version, with built in echo. ;)

They sure are available..
I even have them in stock..
Not in UK 40 though only CEPT..

Neverteless a superb radio and i am not just saying that..

I just really like the "old school" look and rugged build quality...

Just out of interest, how easy is it to make the AM output 4 watts?

I bet converting them to work on the UK40 is pretty easy though, spectrum communications sell kits specially for the purpose. ;)

I was wondering the same thing. I did find on the net a circuit diagram of the CEPT FM only version that used a LC7132 PLL chip (basically the same design as a Maxcom 30E/Midland 4001uk). Don't know how different the AM/FM version is.

I would like also to know if the AM circuit could modulate a 4 watt carrier. My gut instinct is that modification is possible as I predict that the manufacturers would of just put some kind of limiter in it. Does anyone have a Danita 640am/fm circuit diagram?
