Had a very enjoyable morning working a number of ROTA Special Event Stations aided greatly by the good inter-G conditions on 40 Mtrs. Did work GB0GCR first thing at which time the band was still very quite with little traffic coming in from mainland Europe. A couple of things did surprise me though. More than one of the stations I made contact with had no details up on QRZ.com and there were individuals operating for the ROTA weekend who were not listed on the ROTA web site. Information is always the key so why not spread the word to maximise your contacts? My location in the West Midlands has a number of preserved railways and Amateur Radio clubs none of which were on the air. Thank you however for those further a field who made an effort to do so and let me combine two hobbies. Very small moans aside it's still a great event. |
