Rewiring mic help please

A friend has given me a new unused hand held power mic.
It is a KPO NM 532, and has a 6 pin din with screw collar plug fitted (I think they are pre-wired for ranger's).
My radio is a CRT Superstar 3900 (basic without the freq counter), which has a 4 pin socket.
I have an old mic with a 4 pin plug, and a soldering iron. I do not seem to have, however, the knowledge of which colour wires in the mic are for which purpose, and which pins on the 4 pin plug I need to solder them onto
Anyone help please ?

edit - just taken the 6 pin plug apart, bare wire to pin 1, red wire to pin 2, white wire to pin 3, blue wire to pin 4, pins 5 & 6 unused.

As far as I can google, crt superstar is wired the same as old cobra's ie uniden.
In which case pin 1 - sheild, pin 2 - audio, pin 3 - tx, pin 4 - rx.
I 'think' red = audio, white = tx, blue = rx, bare = sheild on a ranger wired mic, so fingers crossed this is correct.

UPDATE :
Mic works yessss

I wired it as follows :
Looking at the plug from the back, ie where the wires solder on the pins....
Pin 1 (bottom right) - Bare wire (Screen)
Pin 2 (top right) - Red (audio)
Pin 3 (top left) - White (transmit)
Pin 4 (bottom left) - Blue (recieve)

Hope this helps others :)

Oh and the KPO NM 532 power mic on a quarter volume (on the slider on front of mic) sounds a lot louder and a lot nicer than the standard superstar mic according to contacts asked !

UPDATE

I tried the KPO mic a couple of times, but started getting awful feedback on ssb.
I noticed something was wrong, when I keyed up on ssb and the needle was pinging across before I had spoken, and a friend confirmed there was no audio just a howl/squealing sound.
I went back to the standard mic for a few weeks, but today I have managed to borrow a clip-on ferrite thingy from a m8 (thanks sylad) and thismorning I have got the KPO powermic back on the radio and it seems to work so far so good with no squealing/howling/feedback.
I will keep using it and see what happens, but if this works ok from now on, I can only assume the clip-on ferrite thing is stopping the feedback, or the only other option is it was something to do with the rig being in my car that caused it (as I did not have a home base setup back when the feedback was happening).
Will keep this updated it may help others with the same problem.

Nik I had to use a ferrite clip on my Astatic 1104C-M base mike cos of the same problem RFsqueel and the needle oing over aswell, and the clip worked or me OK, I dont know perhaps 3900's are sensetive to strong amp mikes

P.S mine is used as home base aint tried in the car yet

Thanks for the reply Martin,
It looks like the 3900 has this problem and its nothing to do with running it in my car then, thanks for that info.
It seems ok today, so fingers crossed the clip-on ferrite is stopping the problem.
Now I just need to work out how to take a 13.3v out from my psu and reduce it to 9v to power the mic so I dont have to keep buying batteries !

Hmmm just come back from maplins. The chap said they don't sell ready built voltage droppers for what I need, but I can buy the main bits and build a circuit myself. The problem would be smoothing the output so there isnt any spikes for the mic.
Just found an old mains adapter in the shed, its variable output 3v/6v/9v/12v so am now wondering if that would do the job. Its even got a pp3 battery connection so it would fit directly onto the battery terminal inside the mic......

Holy Moly!! You spoke to someone in Maplins and they knew something about (a) their products and (b) eleck-trickery and circuits? I'm stunned.

I usually get the Yoof Sales-Assistant (now there's an oxymoron) who really would rather be still in bed at 15:00 hours than having to face a customer and can barely manage a muttered "yeah innit", a "dunno like" or a shrug when asked a question.
I do hasten to add that not ALL young people are like that and I know we have examples of the best of youngsters on this site, but my experiences in the local Maplin seem to suggest they ACTIVELY recruit from the Hoodie-wiv-Attitood Klub

Ken,
I havnt tried it yet mate thnx for asking.
I have been experimenting with the K-PO on ssb, and a couple of ppl have said it sounds a bit warbley/scratchy, and the standard mic sounds better !!
With that in mind I have swapped back to original mic, as ssb is the most important to me, i can live with slightly quiet fm....
