We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Sound's like it could be far worse for Human's nevermind radio Tim,the last time the Sun went like that,was it not the start of the last mini ice~age ? :thumb:

The answer is BOTH
For the lower HF bands, it will be bad. The D layer will get stronger causing SIDs (Sudden Ionospheric Disturbance) which absorb RF thus shutting the bands down.
For 10 metres, VHF and in some cases 70 cms good. On the low VHF bands and upper HF you get an enhancement called "Auroral E" which is hard to tell from Sporadic E (Tone 9, little or no distortion) then comes the Radio Aurora which is distorted. Morse sounds like someone rubbing up the side of a matchbox and SSB sounds like the other side is whispering into the mike

One benefit to radio, if this happens & that's far from a certainty. Is that those who rely upon satellite technology may realise it's not always a safe technology to rely upon.
The biggest advance in radio technology EVER, was the invention of the credit card.
