Do you use QRZ.com - if so, just the basics?

Just wondering if you use QRZ.com and if so, do you look up most of your contacts?
Do you log your contacts on there?
Do you customize your page?

mine is below, its basic as is but I think it tells a story.

I find it funny how many people I'm speaking to come back to me with my first name before I've even told them. I'm sometimes tempted to change it to Gertrude or something.

Yes i use QRZ.COM, I also use the on-line logbook feature but only really for DX contacts or unusual contacts, Mills, MM, etc.

And its my first stop when wanting to look up a callsign and put a name to it.

I use qrz.com but don't list my full address, I don't use the qrz.com logbook ,but upload my hrdlog logbook to the bottom of my page, I don't look up all callsigns but useful for countries I don't recognise.

When operating a club special event station on data mode ,we couldnt understand why most replies were calling us Sarah, we checked the macros ,before we worked out that they were getting the name of the clubs qsl manager from qrz.com

I use QRZ as a tool to see where a Station is, and to get a name . . . or to confirm I have noted their callsign correctly.

My own registration has a partial address, a very brief blurb about my Shack, Kit and history . . . plus , of course, a quick plug for Charlie Tango CO UK ;)
I haven't uploaded pictures or intimate details, nor do I use any of the other 'Features' of the site like Logging. But I do think QRZ is a damn good easy reference point.

I also am a user of The Zed. All I really use it for is looking up the distance between my QTH and the station I'm curious about. I never really understood the reasoning behind QRZ having their own logbook since I use Xlog which also uploads my log to LoTW, and I think I might be able to upload to eQSL. Never did check that one out.

If my radio is on QRZ.com is not far away. I have a page (with picture, stop laughing) but don't tend to use the log book. I'm truly fascinated that you be taking to somebody via the radio and then see what they look like or see what they see in there shack.

Some pages do tend to have way to much information or just plain 'showing off' but generally I find it useful and interesting. I also use 'DX summit' which links directly to QRZ.com.

Think QRZ is a good Idea for DX info, (BUT) i do think some people put far to much stuff about Themselves (far to Trusting )
with all the Identity thefts that take place in today's world.
IE: was looking for an old friend of mine, (Put this name in) got full address phone number the lot,was good for me as gave him a call on land line and have been to see him again,
(So glad) my call-sign and address is not listed (Good call) on my part i think.
Well cheers and beers all
Pete
