Afternoon folks, I have been thinking of trying a bit of static mobile on a hilltop near to me, there is a road right to the top to get my van up, but the hilltop has a tv and radio transmitter up there! I was wondering if you guys think it would be ok to go up there with the radio and try for a few contacts or would i get too much interference from the masts, or worse would i cause any interference and possibly upset most of the area! Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance Andrew 108CT006 |

I would give it a try.. The chances are you will be fine, as Radio and TV frequencies are a long way away from CB frequencies. . Edited by Mudslinger, Monday, 4. July 2011, 19:14.

One of my 'local' high spots also as a dirty great antenna mast on it. All sorts, microwave links, PMR and who knows what else. No noise on my radio when static mobile. Give it ago. If you do get noise cross it off your list and move on. Enjoy. |

Hi Andrew, I,ve been use'ing my radio on high ground in my home town, there are two (dirty great antenna), up where i go, and i have had no probs at all,(well ok the odd) pop!! but thats it, been go'ing now for about 4weeks, and all seems to be well,i think (and that hurts) lol, it's just down to a bit of Common Sense, (and some luck), to i Suppose. But it will not hurt to move to a new spot, from time to time, plus you get to look at a new viwe to. Good luck cheers and Pete |
