Joy... got a new toy (well second hand) and it seems as deaf as a dodo. Checked all the hidden menus and they are similar to standard settings. I've got to adjust them quite massively to get a similar reading to that on my 897. I'm not sure if it is deaf, I think the meter is just very lazy. http://www.youtube.com/user/chrisc1985123#p/a/u/0/Zt3LzB0XGi4 |

well i've done some searching. the crackling is less but it is probably a ceramic filter thats gone up the spout. the good thing is its only a few £ part. this could be causing the deafness. resetting did nothing. ABC'ing it i made the meter read correctly but its still cracking a bit. Martin Lynch want around £65 to fix it. |

£65 TO £70 seems quite cheap for a repair, Most repair shops charge from £40 to £50 per Hour, This doesnt include parts. Mark |

Bumping of an old thread. Martin Lynch fixed the radio and got it all working for £64. That was a few parts and a hour and a half labout. Can't argue with that. |

have taken radios to other places but I have found ML&S to be the most friendly, helpful & not bad on price for repairs. (and a free coffee!) So they get a big star from me. well worth a visit. |
