I have just brought myself an old Icom R7000. I have not got it up & running yet as it will not fit on the radio shelf at the moment. But I have seen it working.
It weighs a ton by comparison to my old Trio HF RX & covers 25 to 1000MHz & then if you pull a switch everything goes up by 1000MHz so also from 1025 to 2000MHz.
I am not sure what I am going to do with it at the moment, but I brought it as I can use it with a slightly modified oscilloscope as a spectrum analyser. It also covers SSB & has the ability to be used on satellites (which is what I really wanted) as it has the ability to adjust the frequency for doppler. The frequency can be adjusted by as little as 0.1khz so is spot on for satellites etc..
It's in excellent condition it's only fault being it's missing it's box. So for £170 I'm a happy bunny.
Is anyone else using a R7000?
