One of midlands DTI guy's was called Preston. He was Scottish & if you remember the VHF station Electronic Sounding Transmissions (EST) Preston was the guy who raided them on 3 consecutive weeks running, or at least on 3 occasions very close together. He was also suspected of kicking their TX etc into a canal as it was all a very long walk from the nearest car access, so rather than carry it, they kicked into the canal. I also seem to think that it was Preston who did the live mid week news interview about the TV station where he said they were out at that moment trying to track it down First the station was a weekend only operator & secondly it was a 11pm plus station. So tea time mid week was never going to be a good time to track them down. The other guy, the one with the bad name was dragged out of his car & beaten up in a very rough area of the midlands. He was a total Cowboy & it was never known if it was during a legitimate raid or during one of his self opointed lone wolf operations that had no official support or even if he was on duty at the time. (It was a red light area ) Anyhow about 9 months later he had a heart attack, agian no evidence to link this to radio in any way & then about 18 months after that the DTI put out a press release which said he had been dragged out of his car, been beaten up & died as a result. At one time due to DTI activity there was an attempt at a multi TX 48 meter station. The idea was that each TX would do a show & then the next TX would switch on & do a show. The order of the TX's would change each time the station came on making the DTI's job harder. I seem to think Apollo was part of this. |

If you're asking for a suggest of somewhere to host Pictures for onward linking to a Post, then Photobucket (http://photobucket.com) is as good as any. Or, if you get stuck, you can always forward to me by email and I'll put them on my Photobucket account, or host them on DX11,org. |
