Hi peeps. Can someone please help? For the past few weeks I've noticed on 145.237.50 MHz there is ALOT of distant contacts. I've heard new York,LA,Canada and ireland. There does seem to be repeater "pips" between each over. As far as I cam tell there doesn't seem to be a repeater for that frequency. Any ideas? Mark |

Its echolink. ![]() go on the echolink website, look for your location and there will be an echolink node there. Link to ECHOLINK SITE - http://echolink.org/links.jsp Edited by ChrisC, Tuesday, 1. March 2011, 21:08.

echolink simplex, which licence holders (intermediate and Full) can obtain an NOV (notice of variation) to add to their licence to operate an echolink gateway on a specified frequency, you should also hear echolink on some of the 2 Meter Repeaters which use duplex (receive and transmit on different frequencies). There is also an internet linking system called IRLP which is similar except you also need a special hardware card to fit into your pc, whereas Echolink is software only. PS whilst listening you can tell if someone using the repeater is linked into the internet gateway by the morse code Ident at the end of each transmission - i (di dit) internet connection, or k (dah di dah) for rf (radio). If there wasn't already a node in Reading I'd set myself up for a partial node. It could be in use when I don't want to use the radio but we've got a full time link. |
