Decided to add to my antenna farm in the loft at the weekend...went proper old skool :P
Biccy tin...Four 9ft wires ...mount and antenna...Job done :)

Works well for local, not tested on DX (cos there aint any on11 :( at the mo). is about down 1.5 S points on the 9ft Shaky in the loft, both antenna tips at the same height ......It has replaced the Bazooka/Excalibur POS.... :D

That's basically what I am havinf to build for the flat. It'll be put up and taken down from being mounted on the window sill.

A HUGE difference Jason (without them it would not work and a decent VSWR would not be achievable)...have them sloping at about 30 degrees at present, will make some tests and then will be sloping them down as close to 45 degrees as i can and make a few further tests.

As mentioned before about 1.5 s points down on the 9 footer but the RX is so much cleaner and clearer over distance...makes me think the 9 ft is just dragging in 2 spoint of rubbish/noise....go figure? :o

hi there
this is the best i could do with my 5" firestick.....cant go outside so done this in the loft...
a 2x3 foot aluminum bakers tray, a 8 foot tripod spread out over it, and 4 nine foot wires from the corners of the tray...
looks awfull but the swa is down to 1;1, i do use a matcher also....

hope i put the right photo up.....

swa is down to 1;1, i do use a matcher also....
There's no point in using a Matcher on an 11m aerial TXing on 11m... It just introduces loss. The SWR should be good enough without a matcher.

hi there
the swr will go into the red (bad) when i use the bypass switch...the unit is a "HQ 2000" its a swr, power merer,match box,a two antenna switch unit.....ilove it as i move about from AM,fm,usb,lsb,and cw...i have got used to it and find it a fast unit to work with ....
