Every owner of a 99 or Imax has static on it before or after heavy rainstorms. It is well known for the antenna. But if you had 3 and nothing at all then you are in a very select margin of people.
White Noise
Static Clicks

All with these antennas thats a fact

i know the a99 of mine i had many years ago was a static monster! you only had to cough at it and it would show a s5 of noise!! but saying that the local guys around my area who have the a99 have no problems at all with theres come rain/snow or wind! and they seem to really boom out with them! not sure if solarcon have eventually listened to there customers and changed something in them or just improved the build quality ( maybe they are soldering them at last lol) but they work no doubt. also an interesting note is that the new a99s are longer as measured at 18ft 3 inches!! and also the fibreglass is seemless ie poured and not moulded! the one i had which was brand new was just under 18ft ie 17ft 10 inches!!! maybe these differences are what helps this aged antenna?

Hello Liam,

At the moment am using the top section of the tank whip and trimming it here and there to see how it is working.

Am in contact with Paul and the tests are continuing
