I had one many years ago truck-king where importing them, need a half decent rorator for it, think its gain was set at 12.5db a bit high at the time(bu**s*it) i was thinking about putting a spider web on its reflector but never got round to it ended up selling it for £125 in mint condition. There still make them in good old palco usa sell them.more of a summer antenna as it doesnt like the wind with them large vertical elements, when useing the vertical side of the antenna you still have to turn the antenna for the best signal bit mad like.

OK guys..........funny that's the only picture I could find!!.I've had mine about 5 years........it's sat unopened in the garage in its box along with a big Jo-gunn beam (even bigger and made in the States).I did a mate a favour......and he gave me the Maco Comet.I think I havn't a big issue with the rotator as it turns 3 stacked Yagis and is a very heavy worm drive model made by Pr-Sis Tel in Italy (they cost £750!!!) complete with Digital controller. The only thing I can find about these Macos is on the Yank Forums and a guy posted a Youtube video last week using a Kenwood TS870SAT on 11 meters running a Maco(in the USA).I like the idea of them been both vertical/Horizontal polorised.I would love to find a "Retro" Avanti PDL2 but silly sods and E-bay seem to charge £250-£350 for a "Proper" one!!!!!!!.I bid on one a bit back ,but when it went over £120....I thought "Fu@k It!!" :(

Greetings from the States! During the last propagation cycle I came into possession of a Comet that needed some restoration. Not a bad performer in stock trim, but I ended up turrning it into a true three element quad, vertically polarized. I was talked into selling the thing to a local operator for far more than it was worth. All in all, it was a worthwhile venture.
Base: Galaxy DX2517, D-104 w/W2ENY element, SB-220, 4 element quad, Imax 2000
Mobile #1: Galaxy 95T2, Astatic 575-M6, 4x2879 LipZipper, Sirio P5000
Mobile #2 (G/F's): Galaxy DX88HL, 2018 Extreme, 2x2879 LipZipper, Sirio P5000
