The following Posts have been relocated from the "CB Radio Trouble Shooting & Discussion" Sorry, but I cannot work-out if there's a way to relocate posts with their original authors! I can relocate (move) entire threads, but not individual posts. So you'll have to put up with the new posts coming from me, with a "Originally posted by..." comment. |

Well,well,well.........you've all seen me stood next to the 70's Stery Puch army DX wagon.......that was at 2008 Donington Radio show. The photo of the beams on the tower at its lowest point of 34 feet to the top.........when wound up the top is nearly 80 foot.I have a good take off over the Humber, and I live on a hill top. These photos with the tower tilted when I built it and put the beams on.Check out the 2 meter Jaybeam Parabeam on the floor............it has a 22foot long boom. There is some decent ones of my Ham/CB shack on the BDARC site........feel free to post them.....sorry for the "Blury" ones Mark......thanks for your help..........and not a Bazooka in site.......LMAO!!!!!!!

1985 Strumech P60 fully rebuilt with 2 new winches and 11 tonne of concrete under it!!.I added up the cost.....the bottom HF beam.....£800 alone.....all in all the price of a brand new small car!!!.......if I bought the tower new there £6000.The best bargain the 2 meter beam on top......£30 from a G0 whos a mate........It took me 3 years of saving and working O/T...then all the agro of planning permission ........I haven't spoke to nine neighbours (my choice) due to their agro and the local papers involvement....they fought a losing cause

I suspect the biggest worry is that all the nasty "RADIASHUNS" from your Tower is going to give the cat dystemper, make the dog pregant, and cause their darling-children to grown long green tendrils and fail their exams. If you REALLY want to worry the neighbours.... plant a raw oven-ready chicken on top of a pole in your garden and, if anyone asks, tell them the microwave has broken so you're using RF. In the dead of night, swap the raw chicken for a well cooked one, and leave it outside long enough for the neighbours to notice. PANIC!! |

Now i'll tell you a few "True" facts that the local "Nimbys" came up with...........I am using all new CE gear (worth many thousands)...I have low pass filters on everything and a 1:1 balun on the HF beam. Also I sat a City and Guilds RAE exam.......so not banging my own drum too much a bit more qualified to use radios than the "Muppets" sat on CH 19.There was nine people who sent letters complaining about Bull@hit.Remember any RFI issues are only a problem of Ofcom who took over from the RA.....and the old "Buzbys".The first woman said her wireless doorbell was going off at all hours.Another couple said they could hear voices out of their TV ..when on "Standby" .....and ws scaring their teenage kids!!!!!!!.........all true. Then when I was granted permission....the Bi@c@ nearby rang the council enforcement guy and said it was way higher than was granted........two guys came and OKed it.....sent said person a letter......within a week a letter came from the Council noise problems department.........wait for it saying my radio was making a "Noise problem".By this time Sue (my YL ) was getting depressed with it all.So I phoned the Coucil and asked if I was killing Eels in the Humber too and I didn't have a 14" base box on my window ledge from my Pro3!!They "monitored" the problem for 3 months.......then sussed that the woman who I freely gave TVI braid breaker filters 2 years previous meant TVI........so they gave her Ofcoms number (No problem to me as my gear is 100%).When she found out they charge HER £60+filters.......guess what??.She decided to have a new TV antenna as the old one was laid broken on here roof pointing to Hell!!!!.After spending I guess 5K on my antennas and tower I was on the verge of getting "Legal Eagles" involved.I haven't heard anything for over a year.......I think they know they have failed and made themselves look C@n@s.They even had the local papers involved who I gave an interview........any their story "Favoured" Radio Amateurs and Radio Hobbyists........LOL  |
