Charlie Tango DX is a group dedicated to Hobby Radio Users in all forms, whether CB, Amateur, PMR446, Scanning and Short Wave Listening.
We are a very active and friendly group that welcomes anyone from anywhere in the world who has an interest in Radio, regardless of their level of experience, their equipment, their location, or their radio preference. We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Second time ive fitted small 12v lamps to this ATU...seem to last about a year or so anyway heres how, all you need cable ties and superglue..lol

I like the old style glow the lamps give.....how about some colour changing led's...lol....its an old bit of kit and it needs the old glow i held 2 blue led'd behind the meter to see what it would look like ...too blue...didnt suit the ol girl

Nice job Mark... As Fish has said, LEDs would last a heck of a lot longer than those bulbs.

I've done a few conversions to meters and so forth (and swapped a number of Grain-o-Wheat backlights on Homebases for LEDs), and I get my LEDs from Phenoptix.com, they have a super range of LEDS, all sizes and colours and dirt cheap. Even yellow for that "old glow" look

Another good tip is using a Bostick hot-glue gun to fix the stuff in place... It's a tad more forgiving than superglue and can be totally removed later if required.

Iv orderd a zetagi mb+5 base microphone from truck king should be here friday,but i do like them base mics it would look nice on my kenwood lol.

Very fulfilling job is backlighting meters - I did a couple of SWR meters recently and they look lush :)
