I'm seriously thinking of making a beam. Because it would be for "portable" operation only I fancy a two element. This should be simple to put together and light. The one area I'm never 100% with is the tuning. Any thoughts and/or suggestions on the matter. It would also be helpful if the answers were in plain English I can get a Sirio 3 element for about £75. You must be able to make something a lot cheaper than that |

A Yagi is fairly easy, but a good antenna that wups their arse is a wire Quad, all you need is two none conductive spreader bars.(Bamboo is good..........just watch the Pandas.......) and a alloy boom that is'n't very long a 2 element Quad while not too large is superb, there is sites on the net showing you how to build them and calculate the wire length. They haven't nicknamed Quads as "Gods Antenna" for no reason Bob..........Regards DAVE
