I know how good that Uniden 300 sounds - I like the look of the 620 too (very modern and professional looking).

Looks like you've some minters there :D

A Cybernet boarded radio like the Harrier CBHQ or a York 869 would add some variety - the Harvard H-407 has an Amstrad board and works fine too.

The Murphy Homebase is OK and very different as far as looks go, and the guts of it are different to the other mainstream radios. The biggest problems with it are the squelch action (quite a pop as it goes in-and-out) and the internal power supply, as this makes quite a hum at low volume levels due to poor RF shielding (this is why I converted mine to 12v and installed it in the van).

Cheers
Gary

A couple of old 80's rigs - I think both have stood the test of time style wise.

Harvard 402 MPA - nice simple design.

Amstrad 900 - nice LED Signal/RF meter on these.

Those two were sold some time back to help fund the hobby.

Here's a couple more 80's rigs.

CB Master 3060 120ch SSB (also sold)

Eurosonic 27/81 (pants performer, but they last forever! - also sold)

The Homebase on QSO looks lovely - FM on it too. Should be able to copy that guy when the skip comes back.

Cheers
Gary

My first legal 27/81 radio was bought for me on 2nd November 1981 (THE day for CB Radio in UK).I still have it in its original box with bill still there from Halfords for £69.95,still as new ,never had cases off and the model???A Sapphire X2000 which is an exact clone of the Eurosonics one on this page!!!.Its been with me since I was 13 years old (now 41.....LOL).Maybe not up to Uniden standards but if I had a pound for the many hours fun on it I wouldn't have to work for a few weeks guys!!!

Ye Gods, my bank balance has enough trouble dealing with my buying the radios that I use on a daily basis (and everything else that goes with them).

If I started "Collecting" radios, my bank account would throw a fit.

I suspect Oggy and Porky are both secret multi-million lottery winners ;)

Just been watching some of the videos - the Magpie was way ahead of it's time and some nice original design features.

I saw the Hans Kucha President Jackson 2 video - sounds superb. I have a Harry 2 and didn't like the mic at first and the beep on channel changes, but the reports I get back are A1.

I'd like to get an Amstrad 901 again - had one years ago but sold it :(

Cheers
